I don't know why i feel emo looking at this photo. I guess the mood of the photo is just as same as what I'm feeling now. I'm hurt with what people said.

get your facts right

All these while, I have been keeping quiet, not saying anything although I have been framed, criticized, downgraded, humiliated, and accused by someone.

But now before I sleep, I have something to say.

I would like to remind everyone to get your facts right before you say anything because it can become a sedition or defamation. I, OH CHIN ENG, NEVER EVER USE MY PTPTN LOAN TO BUY ANY CAMERA OR DSLR. I bought my DSLR back in 2007 using the money I earn working part time in few places. It’s ridiculous to say that I use PTPTN loan to purchase my DSLR. For your information as well, as a student representative I have never given a cent and I have never taken a cent from the university. You can check it with the university for clarification. If I am self-centered I won’t devote my time, energy, money and reputation to stand up for the students.

I don’t mind and I am so open to criticisms but please debate on facts and not by attacking people’s personal life. Don’t act as if you know me so well.

I am offended by these derogatory remarks. I hate being accused and its hurt. Mind your language. Yes, I feel behsyiok now.

But good news is, you, yes YOU, if you still know who you are after saying I use my PTPTN loan to buy a DSLR, you can continue with your baseless and irresponsible allegations. I’m not gona care anymore. Or let me suggest you this, if you don’t like what people say or write, just go off, don’t listen and don’t read. Don’t torture yourself la.

Thank you and good night.

an IMPORTANT reminder

This is to remind all the UNIVERSITI TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN Kampar campus students to please pay your student bill by this Friday (11.2.2011). The deadline also applies to those qualified students who didn’t get their PTPTN loan yet.  I already went to the relevant department to inform them about the late imbursement of PTPTN loan. But the officer said the deadline won’t be extended and we must pay the penalty. I repeat, UTAR IS NOT EXTENDING THE DEADLINE! If you are late, you’ll be charged penalty RM10 per week. Good news is you can write a letter to the Division of Examinations to get back your penalty. Good luck!

Late PTPTN, not so good CNY

First of all, I hope the beloved Prime Minister who has been graciously sending us Chinese New Year’s greeting through SMS and e-mail will seriously look into this matter.

I am third year Journalism student from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Kampar campus. The reason I write this letter is to express my distraught, sadness, and disappointment over the late loan by the government.

I am one of the recipients of the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN). Usually most of us in UTAR will get the loan a month after the new semester begins. Our semester began on 17th January but until today, I haven’t got any cent from PTPTN. Same goes to other students from other courses.

This late payment of PTPTN loan seriously cost a lot of troubles to students from lower income families like me. It’s even more troublesome especially during this Chinese New Year festive season. I was not able to prepare much for Chinese New Year. I was left with no choice but to only bought a new pair of clothes and not even able to buy new undergarments.

Another major problem I’m facing now is the student bill is already out. I have to pay about RM6000 by this Friday, 11th January. Failing to do so, I will be fined RM10 per week for late payment. How am I going to pay the bill if I’m penniless? To rub salt to the wound, I still owe months of hostel rentals. New semester means I have to buy new books too.

This Chinese New Year is definitely not a memorable as well when the southern states in Malaysia were having massive flood. The higher learning institution students in these states are in a very hard situation when their houses are ruined and for sure, they need a lot more money to repair their houses, get new furniture, buy new books and to start new living.

Since the Chinese New Year came earlier, PTPTN should be given earlier to avoid problems to the students. Why this problem occurred? Why the relevant authorities never take this into consideration? Is it the problem of public administration’s incompetency or the technical problem? Without PTPTN, how can we survive? I do not wish to eat bread and instant noodle everyday.

I plead to the PTPTN and Ministry of Higher Education to listen and act on my difficulty as soon as possible. Thank you and salam 1 Malaysia.

From Oh Chin Eng, a citizen who’s eligible to vote in the coming General Election.

Facebook illness

People really got caught up in the cyber world and become alien in the real world. In FB, they can chat like as if they know each other for years although they actually don’t know each other. But in real world, they are wordless when they see each other. It's scary when human lost their human characters in the real world. This social illness and social disorder will only breakdown human relationships and tear us apart. As long as Facebook is still around, people will till then glued in front of their laptop, releasing their Facebook addiction.

Kenapa Saya Memilih Roket

by Zairil Khir Johari

suicide or homicide?

AFter more than a year since the death of Teoh Beng Hock on July 1902009, the much anticipated result of the inquest is out.

But to much dissappointment, the result has not solved the case, but make the case even more complicated and leave everyone in limbo and clueless.

"The death of political aide Teoh Beng Hock was not a suicide and it was not a homicide, Coroner Azmil Muntapha Abas ruled on Wednesday. It is, therefore, an open verdict."

This is excerpt from The Star newspaper.
Mr. Judge, what kin of answer is this?? Maybe Teoh Beng Hock is not ur brother, son or husband who passed away, that's y u feel nth. How can u give an open verdict? WHat does it mean? Nothing! It's unfair to the family of Teoh Beng Hock who until this moment don't get any accurate answer of the trial.

Suicide or homicide?

People want to know!

Mr. Judge, you know, your judgement is like cakap kosong or talk air. There's a saying in Hokkien, 'kong siang ka boh kong' which means cakap macam tak cakap or in English, it means you say something but it is as if you never say anything.

faham??

cakap macam tak cakap, lebih baik tak payah cakap!

Kong sai uah.

This verdict has bring negative implications for many parties.

To the judge: You'll be seen as uncapable to handle such a high-profile case. Your good name is tarnished and do you think people will ever count on you again?

To the judiciary: People will be more angry and lost trust on you as you are not able to give justice to the defendant or plaintiff.

To the family of Teoh Beng Hock: They will only feel more trauma, hatred and sad as their son, brother, husband and father died blindly. What they want is just justice but have they got it? At least give them an accurate answer. Open verdict will only brings more complications after this.

The police should re-investigate the case now since the judge can't make up his mind. There are a lot of doubts, allegations and politics in this case. It's time to show your professionalism, PDRM.

If Teoh Beng Hock is not from the Opposition party, i believe the way police, government and judiciary handle this case will be different.

RIP Chloe

It's a truly sad moment for us.. at least me..

My heart feels so heavy right now. Speechless. Shocked. Stunned. Clueless. Feel like puking. Just a moment ago, i was so happy, laughing out loud, chilling, then i got a message that someone has just passed away..

i asked my friend to confirm it. Then a friend called to tell me the same thing, followed by a post in Facebook. A friend of the victim's brother said the same thing too. so it's true..

On the night of 29th October 2010 at around 9.10pm, a girl and a guy on a bike had a collision with a Mercedes outside of Westlake Homes, Kampar. Now the girl, Chiang Wei Shan (an ex-UTARian who supposed to resume her studies next Jan) has passed away at 6.48pm today (7.11.2010).

Who's fault? I don't know.

Someone posted this on her Facebook this morning: Chloe might not survive if she couldnt pass through today doctor said if she still remain the same after today as her brain is dead, they will shutdown the machine that keeps her survive right now. SO ALL THE PRAYER WE NEED YOUR HELP TO PRAY HARD FOR HER SO THAT SHE COULD GONE THROUGH TODAY!! ASK ALL YOUR FRIEN...DS TO HELP TO PRAY HARD FOR HER IN THE NAME OF LORD JESUS!!!

Before this, i saw some posts in Facebook saying that she's in coma. I really hoped she'll be awake. But now, she's gone forever..

I was there at the scene to take photos (http://j-on-news.blogspot.com/2010/10/serious-collision-in-bandar-barat.html). The girl was so scared. She was screaming due to the unbearable pain. She hold tightly to her brother once she saw him. And she kept on apologising. I went to the hospital to follow up. I can see how great is the love of her brother. He was angry at the slow response from the hospital. I was pissed off too. So much delay at the hospital. If things could be faster at that time..

That's the first and last time i saw her..

I really hope someone actually witnessed the whole accident to give a justice to her.

Around this time last year, 3 UTAR students passed away too (http://oh-chineng.blogspot.com/2009/11/students-swept-awayagain.html#uds-search-results). James Khor Wan Kai, Yew Shy Gin and Yew Ghim Chnieh got drowned at the Batu Berangkai Waterfall, Kampar on 1st Nov 2009. I was there, covering news. I was there, when they found the bodies. I was there, when their family members and friends broke down.

Now all their Facebook pages are flooded with wishes and condolence. They'll never have the chance to reply.. My heart breaks looking at the posts asking Chloe to wake up.

No one knows how miserable i am right now. I feel bad because i didn't got the chance to pass the accident photos that his brother asked from me.

I may not know her, but she has just left a very big impact on my life.

Coincidentally, these few days, i recalled the waterfall incident and now another death took place.

My deepest condolence and prayers to her family. Stay strong. She'll be sad if you are sad.

May her soul rest in peace.

My friends out there, Please.. Please.. drive safe. Please! i don't want to take pictures of your dead body on the road. i don't want to hear from anyone that you got knocked down by a car or lorry or what-so-ever vehicles. Think of your loved ones. If you scared you'll be late, depart early, don't speed. Follow traffic rules. Drive safe, drive slowly. Always say your prayer before you start your journey.

be safe..

Let me take this opportunity to say I LOVE YOU, I AM SORRY, and THANK YOU to all of you, each and every one of you including my family members who have came across my life, in case i don't have the chance to say or I'm too afraid to say it to you.

Let's all of us, in our own way, whether you believe in religion or not, pray for her and her family.

Sedekahkanlah doa buat mereka. Semoga rohnya dicucuhri rahmat.

Amitabha..

God bless her.

i am working, people

SRC

Things that you might not know.

it's not that i didn't do anything.

i did a lot of things.

but..

students don't know what i did.

i didn't tell everyone everything that i did for them.

i didn't tell because i am sincere.

i didn't tell because i feel i don't have to announce to the world what i have done.

i didn't tell because i don't want to have the impression that im showing off.

i didn't tell because it's not the way i work.

it's my job. it's my responsibility.

A friend said to me, "There's no need for you to tell. As long as you know you did it, it's good enough."

Yes i agree. I totally agree. in fact, i always practice that.

but in reality, this way is not working.

it's human nature that people wana see you are doing something. the students wana know and they need to know what i've done for them.

when people don't see, they will say you do nothing.

ok i will try to tell more after this.

if that's what the people want.

to my Prime Minister

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, sorry to tell you that you have been eliminated. You will not get my vote in the next General Election. I believe some other people will do the same thing too. But of course you still have the time to change this negative outcome. I might change my mind. I'm rationally hurt with your recent statement in the UMNO General Assembly. I would suggest you to think of your retirement plan. Maybe you could head a ethnic-cleansing NGO?? God bless you.
