29/9/2010 9.41am View from Block C Cafeteria, UTAR, Kampar, Perak.
New buildings are being build at the green lungs of UTAR, Kampar Campus. It can be seen from Block C Cafeteria which is just opposite the construction site, separated by the lake. There will be two entrances to the new site which are from the Sports Complex and Block H. Due to the construction, the habitats of the animals are destroyed. Birds are flying away, buffaloes and cows can no longer stay there. The development also caused the lake nearby to be polluted. Soon, the nice view of the greens and clear blue skies will no longer available. More students are expected to enroll here once the completion of the expension project. Kampar town will then be more vibrant, alive but also high in population, crowded, polluted and not that green and nostalgic anymore.
Feels happy to see you so concerned for the nature. However, as far as i know the cows are not wild. They are owned by farmers and came into UTAR compound from the undeveloped site. While for the birds, I believe the UTAR Green Committees are doing their best to seek balance between UTAR's development needs and effects on birds natural habitats.
ReplyDeleteHi. Thanks for the comment. You must be from UTAR. What’s your name? im not condemning or against development. Don’t get me wrong. Im just expressing my concern towards the nature. I know the uni is trying its best not to minimize any destruction and to preserve the nature. But when there is development, there’ll be destruction for sure. Some destruction is needed for the good sake of human development.
