Kampar, April 13 - The normal dried and hot weather suddenly turned into a fiery thunderstorm and hit Kampar in just a few seconds.
The thunderstorm which started at 4.44pm is believed to be the heaviest and scariest downpour ever recorded this year here. It looks like a tornado or twister in the Western countries with giant lightnings and drumming thunders.
The strong wind blew away the trashes, bent down the trees and signboard. It also caused black out in hundreds of house in Westlake, the accommodation for University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Kampar students.
Some panic students were seen gathering outside their house. Students lost their assignments and reports in the laptop because they didn't save it yet. UTAR students, who are mostly cyclists were stranded in the university due to the heavy rain. This has caused their belongings in the room including laptop and clothes wet.
Houses in Westlake which has been reported by J-On over the low quality of building materials were proven to be true again. The ceiling leaks and caused the house wet. Some ceilings even fell off.
Over in UTAR, the parking lots in front of Block D are flooded. Trees are broken. The main cafeteria in Block C also flooded and water can be seen on most of the tables and chairs. A reliable source also revealved that there is water leakage in some classes.
The electricity has resumed by 5.06pm and the rain eventually stopped at 5.30pm.
