Sibu MP dies, another by-election?

HOT NEWS!

Another politician has died because of illness in less than a month.

Sibu Member of Parliament, YB Robert Lau Hoi Chew has just passed away this morning at 11.10am due to liver cancer at his home. He's with the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP), one of the parties in BN coalition.

Robert, 68, who's also the Deputy Minister of Transportation won the seat with 3236 majority of votes beating candidates from DAP Wong Ho Leng and PKR Lim Chin Chuang.

Will there be another by-election? If there is, then it will the 11th one since the General Election on 8 March 2008. And it will be the second by-election in Sarawak after DUN Batang Ai,

Sarawak is the major contributor of Parliament seats to BN in the last General Election. Without the support from people of Sarawak, most probably Malaysia is govern by PR now.
